Best view to the Bodensee

 

Close to Bregenz, the Rhein canal enters the Bodensee. An absolute highlight is to book a table at the restaurant Fernsicht in Heiden with a view down to the lake. Only a short drive away is another viewpoint called the Fünfländerblick which translates into 5-country-view. The name derives from the 19th century when the lake bordered 5 different countries: Switzerland, Austria, Bayern, Baden and Württemberg. The view to the other end of the lake is amazing, especially at sunset.
